Before we head over to the tutorials, here are a few autumn leaves you can draw:

How To Draw Autumn Leaves

Black Walnut Leaf

Don't you just love black walnut leaves? They're so pretty and detailed that you can't help but admire them.

1. To draw this leaf, you're going to first start by drawing a slanted line.

2. Then you're going to draw three small oval shapes at the top of the stem. Continue drawing ovals on either side of the stem until you reach the end.

3. Once you've completed this step, add some detail by filling in the petals with a line.

Redbud Leaf

redbud leaf

Redbud leaves are just as pretty as black walnut leaves but they're two very different things. While the walnut leaf consists of many petals strung together, this redbud leaf is made of one big shape.

1. First, draw a slanted line (or straight – depends on what you prefer) and add the stems onto them.

2. Then starting from the bottom of the left side, curve a line out until it reaches the tip of the stem at the top.

3. Draw another curve coming done and shape it at the bottom to make it look like a heart.

Dogwood Leaf

This leaf is very similar to the one above but the only different is that it doesn't have a heart shape at the bottom. Instead, you'll have to have one continuous curve and the rest of the steps the same as the above.

Oak Leaf

Oak leaves may seem a little difficult at first but they're really fun to draw.

1. Here you'll need to draw the stem and then add the branches by drawing a V shape.

2. Start at the bottom on the left side and curve the lives around the branches all the way to the top until you have to curve downwards on the other side.

Maple Leaves

Maple leaves are leaves which change from green to many different shades of, red, yellow, purple, or orange during Autumn.

Learning how to draw maple leaves are really fun to try and the great thing about these leaves is that you can be messy as much as you like as long as you pointed edges.

1. In the first maple leaf tutorial, simply draw a curved stem and add the branches.

2. Then outline the branches to create the maple leaf shape.

How To Draw Simple Leaves

If you're looking for small doodle leaves, then you've found it. These adorable leaves can be used to fill up blank space and they literally can be drawn in seconds.

In fact, they're sort of a smaller version of the dogwood and redwood leaves. One being an upside-down heart and the other that curves in a half circle at the bottom.

So here you have slanted leaves which can be done in two steps. For number 3, all you have to do is draw a slanted line and curve the leaf from the bottom while narrowing it down as it reaches the tip and then curves the line down as it reaches the bottom.

You can leave a gap open like how I did or you can close it off. Number 4 is basically the same thing but all we did was add some extra detail by drawing mismatched branches.

Learn how to draw clover leaves in just 3 steps with this tutorial. The first tutorial will show you a 3 leaf clover tutorial while the once below is a 4 leaf clover.

These leaves are incredibly fun to draw where you'll need to join two heart shapes vertically and then process to draw another heart shape, joining the previous two together. Then you can go ahead and draw the stem.

draw 2 leaves on stem

Here's a great filler leaf you can draw to fill any blank space. These two leaves are perfect if you want to create a border or just add additional detail to a drawing.

1. Start by drawing a slanted line.

2. Then add another line halfway down from the first.

3. Finish it off by drawing an oval shape with a pointed tip for the leaves.

small leaves

Here is a smaller version of the leaf below but if you notice carefully, these two leaves are side by side rather than one being high than the other.

1. To draw the first leaf, you'll need to sketch a straight line.

2. Curve it up and make a pointed edge, bring the line down and you've just formed your first leaf.

3. Now draw a line through the center of the leaf reaching from the stem to the pointed edge of the leaf.

For the second drawing, make a Y shape and draw the leaves around the two ends that branch out.

cute leaves

This is a small and silly leaf design you can try drawing. All you really need to do for this one is draw a straight line done, then add petal shapes on either side and at the very top of the stem.

cluster leaves

I think when you're drawing leaves, it's only a matter of time before you draw many of them together like this design. Draw a line down and add a big petal to it. Then add another leaf on either side and draw a line inside each leaf.

Drawing detailed line leaves

You've seen a lighter version of the first leaf from before but the only difference between these two are the lines that run from the stem to the line of the petals. When you do this, it gives the leaves more definition.

The second leaf is an easy one to draw. You'll need to draw one slightly curved line and another small curved line next to it. The fill out the shape of the petal following the direction of the curved stems.

Here we have a slightly curvy edge leaf that's more suited for drawing autumn leaves. The second leaf design has a more detailed stem. However, both are equally fun to draw and best suited if you draw them large rather than a tiny detail.

So, there you have it.
